BHOOTNATH....
Bhootnath......worth a watch for all ages..:))))
Bootnath is refreshing children oriented and a very heart warming fun filled movie.
There was no hype for the movie or much publicity. However it is sad that it did not receive Tax free status, so that it becomes affordable for the family to visit the cinema.
The story has wonderfully displayed a lovely communication between a child and a ghost. Thus removing the scare of ghosts from the child’s mind. The ghost hereby is called an ANGEL.
The first half is hilarious with the ghost trying to scare the little Banku and vice versa which puts the ghost himself in confusion whether he is really a ghost or not. The ghost is seen panting n puffing with the clever yet innocent childish gimmicks and yet seen enjoying the play. The presentation was so refreshing with a roller coaster laughter ride in the first half. The second half shows the ghost touched by the little one’s love, when Banku falls from stairs resulting in a head injury and covers his angel’s folly by saying that it was none of his fault and one does get hurt while playing. The metamorphosis of the ghostly appearance of Amitabh Bachchan in to a more humanly clean form is funnily and well presented.
The best was fun in school with the principle , a complete laugh riot and the dance sequence ‘ Hey Buddy’ with both dressed as ‘men in black’ was mesmerizing. The little Banku showed wonderful ex-pressions which conveyed the emotions immensely well for a child. And as for Amitabh…this man has no comparison in the film industry….everyone just fades out in front of him. Even at this age the he is breathtaking. No one in the whole film industry emotes like him. Watching him what one remembers is his name and not the glamour n glitz he is a part of, the rest is all the characterplayed by him which overpowers you. The equation with the child in this movie was heart warming and reminded me of his song from Mr. Natwar Lal.
Juhi was refreshing in the movie acting her age and I felt like all moms are alike, me being one. The best being The interactions with the school principle provided the principle is like Satish shah….:)))
SRK’s role was apt as required fairly sobered down doing justice to the script.
The end was powerful and emotionally charged yet subtle performances with the spirit of an old father still fighting with his own angst against his son, unforgiving and not letting go of the bondage with his house which held all the memories dear to his heart. The couple finally knowing about Banku’s angel and lost their heart to him and the way life treated him. They went looking for solution to his salvation (Mukti) as all we adults call it. An insight to our customary rituals and facing the eternal truth ‘Death’. Better learn to face it outright rather than hiding away from it.
But what ever the truths or philosophies of life or death are….i felt that it’s finally these ‘Bondages of love’ which keep us bringing back to various cycles of life .
The conclusion was…to be continued…so am already waiting for the next part......
